1 Year of Dating – 12 Fremont Street

For those of you that haven’t been following my previous posts (first one found here) I have created 24 preplanned dates for the year. So my husband and I will have one at home date and one date where we go out. I have wrapped 24 items that will offer a hint of what the date will consist of; some that may be used during our dates and some that simply solely act as clues. July is the second warmest month of the year here, so before it gets too hot, while we’re still in June, and the nights are unbearably hot, I planned to take my husband to Fremont street.

Fremont Street offers a light show called Fremont Street Experience. They’re about 7-10 minute shows that appear overhead with lights and music, it’s amazing. The entire Fremont Street Experience is lined with different Casinos. You can bring children to watch the show, but most of the Casino have posted that you have to 21 or old to be in the casino. We’ve been a few times, but there are so many things there that we always say we want to do. The first being the zipline they added a few years back; it’s something we keep saying we’re going to do, but haven’t done yet. It’s a little expensive but it was so much fun. We haven’t done anything like that before. The next thing we want to do was eat at the Heart Attack grill; we’ve heard great reviews and always wanted to check it out. They have a scale outside of the restaurant, anyone of 350 pounds eats free. When you walk in you are given a “hospital bracelet” and a true hospital gown to wear over your clothes. There menu is very simple but the food is absolutely amazing. They serve you larger portions and sods in a bottle, which was a nice touch. One thing no one told us, is if you don’t finish the meal you’ve purchased, the waitress (dressed in nurse costumes) spank you. If the entire table neglects to finish, one person is chosen to be spanked. Neither of us finished our burgers, so my husband was bent over his chair and was spanked 3 times in front of everyone in the restaurant, it was hilarious!

After our meal we wanted to do a bit of gambling, so we went to a casino that offers vintage coin slots and we won $50.00 which paid for our meal. It was amazing to hear the coins drop out of the slot machine, we’re used to getting a voucher that needs to be cashed out. We wanted dessert, so we went across the way to another casino that’s famous for their deepfried Oreros and deepfried Twinkies. They are famous for a reason, they were extremely rich, very sugary and completely amazing! We spent the rest of the evening walking about with fruity drinks, watching the shows, stopping in the different Casinos to see what each had to offer, we had a blast.
