1 Year of Dating – 5For those of you that haven’t been following my previous posts (first one found here) I have created 24 preplanned dates for the year. So my husband and I will have one at home date and one date where we go out. I have wrapped 24 items that will offer a hint of what the date will consist of; some that may be used during our dates and some that simply solely act as clues. We’ve already covered January and February. We’re moving on now to the month of March. I preplanned, RSVP’d and paid for a 3 hour all inclusive Canvas painting class or otherwise known as Wine and Paint party.

Basically, the company that hosts this class rents out the room in a tavern, bar or restaurant and they set up as many canvas as the max occupancy allows, or however many people have RSVP’d for this class (though they are usually full). They supply the canvas, the paint, the paint brushes, the instructor and a chair. They aren’t too expensive, but you can usually find a better deal through Groupon, obviously depending on your location. Usually, this package doesn’t include food or drinks, though the bar, tavern or restaurant will usually have servers that come into the room taking orders.

The instructor will stand at the front of the room and show you step by step how to paint the picture, what paints to use and if different brushes are involved, which brush to use. Really, anyone can take this class and paint a beautiful work of art. Most of the sites have a calendar with a photo of what they’ll be painting on what date. I chose a midnight seen, in central park, with trees that have no leaves, the moon that is partly covered by clouds. The hint for this date was a two pack of mini canvases and easels that I found at Walmart for a few dollars. I planned to use this after the painting class was done. We got home, I set them up, pulled out the paint and he and I had a race to see who could recreate the picture we just painted the fastest. It was a challenge because it was so small and trying to remember all the steps and details as quickly as possible. But, it was a lot of fun; not only did we have our beautiful paintings to display, we also had these mini almost distorted renditions of the paintings. The paitings are a very pretty scene and they go with the theme my husband has in his “man cave”, so I figured they would be a nice addition. Next time we take this class I want to do something that we can hang in our bedroom!
